Queen wasps appear from hibernation mid April to May depending on temperatures.
They find a nesting site and start to build a nest and lay eggs the nest will build up during the summer months. Male wasps and new queens are produced at the end of the summer the queens are mated and then head off to hibernate for the following year. Towards Autumn wasps can become move of a nuisance s the nest starts to die out.
Wasps will be attracted to products high in sugar, as well as rotten wood to help build nests.
